Greetings from high in the West Central Mountains of Idaho!!  I have a question about measuring air/surface temps (Maj. Tom's area of expertise ). I know the answer has to be anecdotal so I'll use a hypothetical:  If the NOAA posted air temp was a high of 100 degrees in SV on todays date (assuming it was read near Indian Ranch/Hunter Cyn at the weather station in the shade near trees and grasses and considering the sun's position in the sky lenght of daylight, clear sky, light breeze, etc.), about how much greater can I expect the ambient temp to be in direct sunlight at the springs at the same point in time?  And what can I expect in the way of surface temp at the springs?  Give me your best guess please. Thanks
