1) toyota fj60 land cruiser 2) range rover hunter edition 3) ford 150 pickup. All w/ 4wd but no chains. Even with chains alot of digging would still have been necessary to get through. It took 2.5 hours to back the rover & the ford out from the upper canyon beneath the saline-panamint divide.

12-20 was last Friday. We drove up there very early, 2 in the morning, cutting fresh tracks through the powder. Turned back 50 yds below the Hunter Mt jct, after a series of difficult recoveries.

6-16" snow at the pass on 12-20, with deep drifts on the north fc. slopes in upper Grapevine Cyn.
