When I "discovered" the springs during 2007 (I was eavesdropping at the Furnace Creek pool), I made it in for Xmas eve.  The gift exchange was really funny and the potluck was a great surprise.  I think I brought freeze-dried camp mashed potatoes.  Maybe this year I can do better than that!

Hi Mitch,

xmas tends to be a little more crowded than on other weekends throughout winter, but a lot depends on the weather conditions. There are definitely less people than on Thanksgiving.
There is usually a nice little potluck party and gift exchange on Dec. 25th.

We are thinking about heading out for the xmas weekend too, pending a few issues.
Maybe we'll see you out there!

Hello everyone,

I'm Mitch from Seattle and I've visited the area on several occasions.  I've even made it to the Springs a couple of times.

I'll be traveling through the area in my jeep TJ from about December 21st through December 29th.  I plan on making a trip to the springs via the north route (my previous trips have been on the south pass route).

So I have a question:

Is there a large crowd expected during the Christmas eve/christmas period?

Thanks!
