I like that weekend at Saline because a storm traditionally comes into CA and cools it down to the 80's, so watch the weather.  If it snows at Tahoe then I will be there.
be careful if coming from the north as that is Mule Days in Bishop saturday

We used to go every year on Memorial Day.  (We've had vehicle issues the last couple years.)  Always had a great time, but.....fair warning....it can get HOT.  110+ during the day, 80+ at night is not unusual for that time of year.  You might catch better, but you likely won't. 

As for the crowds on a holiday weekend?  Usually not too bad, the heat has chased most of them off by then.

And bring some bug spray.  Check the "Noseeums" thread elsewhere herein.  That's NO-SEE-(th)EMS, as in you can't see the pesky little creatures.  But you will know they are there.

Luv Saline springs .. But how is it on a busy holiday weekend?
