According to the DVNP website, the park is not closed:
"Important Shutdown Notice During the government shutdown, Death Valley National Park will remain accessible, but no visitor services will be provided, including restroom and road maintenance. Furnace Creek Campground, Sunset Campground and Texas Spring Campground are closed"

NPS & FS facilities are closed. Lee didn't post signs Saturday on the outhouses. I didn't know anything until I popped into civilization yesterday evening that the Government was shut down.
Technically, the park is closed. However, during the last shutdown I enjoyed some real great solitude at Jordan Hot Spring. I ventured into Saline and found it peaceful, yet still the regular operational cycle as always.

Do you think NPS will direct the camp host to lock the outhouses since all national parks are closed ?
