Greetings all,

Look for the final SPA Position Paper on the Saline Valley Warm Springs Management Plan within the next two days (or less).

Meanwhile, prior to this issuance, and so this element does not get overlooked, I want to suggest our membership identify a new element to the Management Plan and add this to your comments. This element regards road maintenance.

As it is the mandate of the National Park Service to preserve and protect its lands for all to enjoy, accessibility should be ensured. The Park Service should make available to the Inyo County the borrow pits the county has historically used to maintain the Saline Valley Road, and the Park Service should additionally enter into an agreement with Inyo County to allow the county Road Maintenance Department to grade the road leading to the springs (traditionally referred to as the Bat rock Road) when they are engaged in road maintenance on the county road.

Once again, the full set of elements and alternatives along with opportunity to comment can be found at: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/document.cfm?parkID=297&projectID=39438&documentID=56823

We have until April 27 to make your comments.
